January 2, 2019

Bratcher, Theresa Ann, 51, of Brooksville, Florida passed away on January 1, 2019. Theresa was born on October 10, 1967 in Ferndale, Michigan to Jackie and Billie Gossett, and she was the youngest daughter of six children.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Michels & Lundquist Funeral home located at 5228 Trouble Creek Rd., New Port Richey. The family has requested donations in Theresa’s name be made to the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay.

In 1993, Theresa married Roger Bratcher, and they were together for 10 years. They had two beautiful children, Sandra and Ryan, who were Theresa’s greatest joys and proudest accomplishments in life.

Theresa was a certified nurse’s assistant and had a special gift for providing care to the elderly and infirmed. She was dedicated to caring for and serving others at various care facilities in the Tampa Bay Area.

Theresa enjoyed the outdoors, especially spending time with family and friends around the firepit. She had a wicked sense of humor and loved making others laugh. She had a green thumb for gardening and had no problem getting “down and dirty” doing lawn removal with her father’s business or working on a friend’s farm.

She was the beloved mother of Ryan Allan Bratcher of New Port Richey, Florida and Sandra Louise Bratcher of Orlando, Florida. She is survived by two sisters, Sandra Daniel of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Cheryl Cooper of Royal Oak, Michigan; one brother, William (Bill) Gossett of Boise, Idaho; aunts Marguerite McIntyre and Nora Chimner of Greenbush, Michigan, and Ann Peters of Russellville, Kentucky and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and close family friends.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Christopher Cooper (1992) and John Henry Cooper (2012); her mother, Jackie Gossett (2010); and father, Billie M. Gossett (2011).

My heart is aching for this loss, for each of you and myself also. Theresa and my Tina were friends since junior high, so Theresa was my friend also because we were around each other a lot while they grew up and on into adulthood. I learned to love her craziness, she was a good friend to my Tina, who her children called aunt Tina, and Tina loved that and them. I will definitely miss her.

I am very sorry for your loss. May the memories you and your family shared with Theresa bring you comfort during this difficult time. May you also be comforted by and confident in God’s promise at John 5:28,29 to see our loved ones again.

I’m so very sorry to hear this. Theresa and I were best friends in Jr. High before I moved out of state in high school. I spent many nights at the Gossett home and always enjoyed going there.. Everyone was always so nice and made me feel like I was right at home. I loved her like a sister she was such a good friend. We spoke a few times over the years but life keeps everyone so busy. Our birthdays were two days apart and I always think of her on my birthday. I’m very sorry for your loss she was a special person who carries a special place always in my heart.
