Bartolome “Bart” “Papi” Colom Gonzalez, 82 of Dade City, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2023. He was born in Puerto Rico and moved to Florida in 1972. Bart was the Founder and Director of Florida Youth Conservation Corps., was a Mason, an Eagle Scout, an avid tennis player and enjoyed reading books (especially world history) and watching movies.
He is survived by his devoted wife of over 48 years, Rosa; his son, Bartolome “Bart” (Brunilda) Colom; daughters, Dr. Myrna (Trina Sherman) Colom, Rosa (Juan) Paula, Ida Norton and Lourdes Colom; his brother, Miguel Colom Gonzalez and his sister, Margarita Colom Gonzalez. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Bart, Karina, Daniel, Tamara and Angel and his great-grandchildren. Ariel and Sanders.
The family will have a private service at a later date.
