Don Franklin Phillips
April 2, 1958 - January 22, 2024

Don F. Phillips, age 65, of Odessa Florida, passed away January 22, 2024 after battling cancer.

He was born April 2, 1958 in Charleston, WV, the son of the late Charles and Phyllis (Yake) Phillips. He was a graduate of Licking County Joint Vocational School and Watkins Memorial High School, class of 1976.

Don was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, son and friend to many. Each person has a story to share that will always keep his light shining.

He enjoyed long walks on the beach, vacationing with great friends, playing with the grandkids and taking care of his pups, Beatrice and Brutus.

Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years, Mary (Sager) Phillips; daughter, Amber L Waibel of Trinity, FL; son John C (Caterina) Phillips of Trinity, Fl. Four grandchildren: Denis (DJ) Waibel, Ryleigh Waibel, Oliver Phillips and Maverick Don Phillips; sister, Regina (Dave) Gladden, brothers: Gary (Cheryl) Phillips, Mark Phillips, Scott Phillips; and many aunts, uncles, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, his beloved Aunt Rosie, bonus grandson, Fisher James Thompson, Walker family and the Wacky Travel Group.

A Celebration of Life is being planned for the summer in Central Ohio.

    Mary, I am so sorry to hear about Don. I can only imagine the huge loss you all must be feeling. He was a very special person and I will always have warm memories of chatting with him in our front yards while he had either Brutus or
    Bea. My thoughts are with you and everyone who knew and loved Don.

    Mary, Vickie forwarded. So sorry to hear this news. I remember when the kids were so small and we car pooled to downtown Columbus. Appears you have a wonderfull family with grandkids, etc. If you’re ever in Ohio, would love to have lunch and catch up. Again, so sorry for your loss. Ed
