Fred Robert Busch
October 4, 1949 - April 24, 2024

Fred Robert Busch, aged 74, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2024. He was born on October 4th, 1949, in Flint, Michigan, to Fred & Emma Busch. He married Susan Ewbank on June 10th, 1978, in Tampa, Fl. Fred was very outgoing, altruistic and loved traveling. He had the ability to get to know every person he met. His family and the Lord were his two biggest passions. Fred served as a Deacon at Calvary Baptist Church in Clearwater, FL. Fred graduated from Flint Northwestern where he was the Drum Major and the first graduating class to go through from 1964-1967. Following high school he attended Grand Rapids School of Bible & Music where he sang with several music groups including the Evangelaires and later with the Singing Kolenda Family.
He began his career in the financial services industry at Citizens Bank in Flint. In 1974, he moved to St Petersburg, FL where he began a 50 year career as F Busch & Associates working with organizations such as Bankers Life and Casualty and the Tucker Advisory Group. Fred had a great love for sports, he had an uncanny recall of Christian athletes, was a vigorous supporter of University of Michigan teams and served as the Voice of the Plant High School’s Lady Panthers for 23 years.
Fred is survived by his wife of 46 years, Susan; his sister Diana (Phil) and brothers, Alan (Sue) & David; his children, Summer (Ray), Jonathan, Jordan and Blaire; his 6 grandchildren and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A family graveside service will be held at Sylvan Abbey in Clearwater, FL to reminisce and honor the life of Fred. An event for friends and clients will be held at a later date.

    So sorry to hear the news of Fred’s passing. It was a pleasure to have known him when he was a student at GRSBM and when we traveled together with the Evangelaires Quartet. The song we sang together with the quartet, “Welcome Home, Children,” has even greater meaning now. My sincere sympathies to Susan and all the members of Fred’s family.
