Gail Lynn Otts, age 77, of New Port Richey, Florida passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, June 29, 2023. Gail was born on September 19, 1945, to the late Lee Maurice Peterson and Virginia May Navarre Peterson in Great Bend, Kansas.
Her love and memories will be cherished by her loving children, son James Thomas Husted and daughter-in-law Neltie Louise Husted, son Robert Aaron Otts and daughter-in-law Kelli Otts, and daughter Jennifer Renee Otts: late brother, Douglas Lee Peterson: sister, Bonnie Kay Smith and her husband Douglas Ford Smith; grandchildren, Sanders Graham Walker, Hannah Louise Walker, Clayton Johnson, Logan Duncan, and Leila Duncan.
Gail is well loved and will be dearly missed. She loved spending time at the beach with her family and friends, camping, grilling out, and reminiscing about good times and laughing at all the silly stories. Gail had a flare for design and always kept a beautiful home. Her sister, Bonnie said “She was the best big sister ever!!! She would always take me with her. I loved her very much.” Gail was a wonderful mother and wife, always putting their wants and needs first, and making sure they were fulfilled.
Gail grew up in Ypsilanti, Michigan and graduated from Ypsilanti High School in 1963. Gail and her late husband, Thomas Clifford Otts, moved from Michigan to Columbia, South Carolina in 1976, where they built a couple of successful businesses, Poured Walls, Inc. and Chelsea Builders. Together, they built a beautiful home and raised a wonderful family. Those were some of the most joyful years of her life. Gail moved to Charleston, South Carolina in 1997, where she called home for the next 20 years. She would always say that Charleston, and the surrounding beaches were some of her favorite places. Gail left Charleston and moved to a beautiful place on Lake Jordon in Wetumpka, Alabama, to be closer to her young grandchildren. Her next and final move was to New Port Richey, Florida where she bought a cute little house and put her special touches on it.
A Celebration of Life will be held by the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice in her name.
