George Ross Wayne Jr.
May 12, 1942 - September 15, 2022

George R. Wayne of Land O’ Lakes passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2022 at his home.  He was born on May 12, 1942 in Chicago, IL and moved to Florida full time in 2016 to fully enjoy retired life near his family and friends.  George worked as an engineer at Electro Motive in McCook, IL for 32 years.  He was very proud of his ability to ‘fix’ things and his family heavily relied on him for these skills.  Before moving to Florida he spent his early retirement years working at a local Ace Hardware.  He loved completing jigsaw puzzles and was active in his community playing tennis, shuffleboard and pickleball.

He is survived by his wife Connie, daughter, Gwen (companion Frank Wadda) Mackowiak; son Scott (Michelle) Wayne.  Also surviving are his grandsons, Nathan (Rebecca) Mackowiak, Ryan (Larissa) Mackowiak, Nick Wayne and Jake Wayne.
