Mr. James G. Vinson of Lutz, Florida, 80, passed away May 11th, 2023. James was born in Moultrie, Georgia and has been a Florida resident since 1970. James is preceded in death by his parents, Seabourn and Hazel Vinson, brother William (Bill) Vinson and a son James Timothy Vinson.
James is survived by his wife of 38 years Charlene Vinson, son Cameron Vinson, and a daughter Sheila Vinson, sister, Linda Peters, brother Don Vinson, and brother Reverend Franklin Vinson. As well as also blessed with six grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
James was hard worker from the start. At a young age James worked on family farms picking vegetables, cotton, and tobacco, soon moving onto delivering Gasoline and Kerosene by truck. Then working at Moultrie Cotton Mills before the age of 18. Later James moved to seek further enterprise.
Starting as a simple laborer on a construction crew he quickly learned the job of building. He went back to school and became a General Contractor, and Masonry business owner for more than 40 years. Specializing in building block homes and specialty fireplaces for a variety of the builders throughout central and southern Florida.
He was a consummate backyard griller and self-taught fisherman always, carrying a rod and reel in the back of his truck. He had been known to drop a fishing line for a minute hoping to catch dinner at any convenient bridge or overpass that offered the opportunity.
James was a loving father, husband, and brother he was kind, generous and believed in working hard and treating people fairly. He was a selfless man whose passing left and unfillable gap in the hearts and lives of his loved ones. His ability to sacrifice, provide support, forgive, and love will be forever etched in the hearts and lives of all who knew him.
James will be honored in a private service at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
Minister: Reverend Franklin Vinson will be officiating. He currently presides as Minister of Edith Baptist Church, in Fargo, Georgia.
