James Michael Hood
December 21, 1988 - February 25, 2024

James Michael Hood is gone too soon. James was a caring and loving child. James was the sweetest little boy and cared about his grandparents, cousins, Aunts and Uncles. James loved going to visit his Mema and Aunt Celeste and Uncle Bob in Middleburg. James especially loved his cousins Rachel, Chelsea, and Melissa. James was also close to his Papa, Papa Joe and Grandma Ann. We had a very large extended family on his father’s side and his daughter’s mom Randi. Our family gatherings were never small.

As a child, James would follow Carl everywhere, he wanted to ride bikes with him and build ramps with Carl and his friends. I remember taking a van full of boys to the skate park where they rode their bikes and jumped ramps. James loved his brother so much. James loved his daughter Kylie so much and would draw her cards and pictures. Kylie would always ask if she got a card or drawing from him. James was an excellent drawing artist and tattoo artist. He was very smart and very charming. When I went to college at 45, I had trouble with algebra, he could run circles around me with his math brains. James loved country music and liked to watch me line dance. I would have loved to have more time with him to teach him to dance.

Carl, Kylie, Randi myself (mom) and our families are so lost right now with the loss of James. We are trying to deal with our loss and the grief we are bearing. We never expected to lose him so young.

James leaves behind his daughter, Kylie Hood; mother, Blanche Hood; brother, Carl Hood; nephew Logan Hood; and sister, Carlene Karafelis.  He also leaves behind his Aunt Celeste, Uncle Bob, cousins, Melissa, Chelsea and Rachel, and their families.

We are deeply hurt that we’ve lost James Hood. I looked up to him like a brother and please understand that his girlfriend which he loved without a shadow of doubt is lost without him. You are forever loved and missed.
