
James “Smitty” Smith, 79 of Dade City, passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2021. He was born in Hartwick, New York and moved to Florida in 2006n from Oneonta, New York. He was a bus driver for Scholastic Buslines and an honorably discharged US Navy veteran. Smitty enjoyed riding his motorcycle and tinkering around the house.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 46 years, Millie; sons, Shawn VerValin and Jamie Smith; daughters, Jodi Norton, Naiomia (Tim) Miller and Genia Shapely and his siter, Alice Knapp. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his daughter, Wendy Sue.
The family will be holding private services.
The family has entrusted care and services to Coastal Cremations and Funeral Care, Zephyrhills, Florida.

I have know Smitty for years . he was a fun loving person to his family and friends. Thinking of you Millie and family. Miss you too… Rest In Peace Smitty.
