John L. Shankel, Sr. 62 of Wesley Chapel, passed away on Friday, November 5, 2021. He was born in Baltimore, Maryland and moved to Florida in 2006 from Maryland. He was a commercial painter and enjoyed woodworking, scuba diving, riding motorcycles and was a diehard Baltimore Ravens fan. John had a very dry sense of humor and loved his family. “Bill W.” saved John over 5 years ago, which he was very proud of.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 22 years, Judy; his step-sons, Andrew Plempel and Eric (Janel) Graves; brother, Carl L. (Da) Shankel, Jr. and his sister, Marcella (Calvin) Hendley. John was predeceased by his son, John L. Shankel, Jr. Services for John will be private.
