Joseph Ray Gill 4/24/75-3/25/22

Joe was born in Tampa, FL April 24, 1975 to Kenneth Gill Sr and Teresa Newby. He lived in Indiana, South Carolina, Oklahoma, and Kentucky but eventually moved back to Tampa as it was where he called home. Joe was the strongest and bravest man we knew. He never once said “I can’t do that”. If someone told him he couldn’t, he did. He always had a smile and loved deeply. Joe loved history, foreign films, and music. No one could sing a Credence Clear Water Revival song like Joe. Joe survived several surgeries and health issues and never complained. It is fair to say that if you met Joe, you would always remember him. He selflessly took care of his stepfather, Greg, in the last months of his life. Joe had a deep connection to his father and with the lord. He walked by faith, not by sight. Joe you will be forever missed and it’s hurts that you are gone. We are comforted with the memories of your smile, laugh, and fearlessness. One of Joes favorite words was “phenomenal”. Joe was phenomenal.
Joe was preceded in death by his father Kenneth Gill Sr and stepfather Greg Newby. He is survived by his mother, Teresa Newby; stepmother Janet Gill; brothers Kenneth Gill Jr (Amy), Daniel Gill, Nathan Gill and stepbrothers Chris Chadwell (Sara), Greg Newby Jr, (Becky) and Bryan Newby (Kelly). Also surviving is his loving sister, Becky Yelner (Adam) nieces and nephews Lauren (John), Caleb (Erin), Seth (Heather), Ashley, Lennon, Callie, Kayla, Jacob, and Jeffery great nieces and nephews Ava, Raylin, Eden, Fiona, Marcel, and Isaac and so many incredible aunts, uncles, and cousins that were always more like siblings.
Joes celebration of life will be Sat May 7 1pm-6pm @
Jubilee Lodge #746
