Juan G. Sanchez

Juan G. Sanchez, of Trinity, Florida, died Friday, January, 28th, 2022 in his home. He was born in Medellin, Colombia, on May 28th, 1955, to Libardo Sanchez and M. Ligia Maya Sanchez. Growing up in Colombia, he spent time at his father’s ranches and his aunt’s coffee farm.
Juan, his mother and brother emigrated to the United States, in 1974. They settled in Los Angeles, CA. Juan attended the University of Long Beach. While attending college, he worked at U.S Gypsum. In 1977, Juan began working for the Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts. He worked there for 37 years, retiring as a Senior Industrial Waste Inspector. He married Mary Toso in 1998. Their only child Cassidy was born in 2003. Juan retired in 2014 and he and his family moved to Florida to enjoy retirement.
Juan loved the outdoors, camping, fishing and hunting. He enjoyed a fishing trip with his brother n law Rob to Lake Superior, ice fishing in Minnesota with friends and ocean fishing in Baja, California, where he won many fishing tournaments, catching Sailfish, Dorado, and Barracuda. He hunted deer in Minnesota, Colorado, and California. He also got the chance to do some pheasant hunting in South Dakota with his father-in- law, John.
He loved astrology, and  anything to do with space. He was an intelligent, witty man, always ready to share knowledge or a good story. He was a hands on dad, always there to help with school work, book reports, science projects, and driving lessons. Dating advice, not so much.
Juan is survived by his wife, Mary and daughter Cassidy, brother Alejondro Sanchez and wife Cathy of New Port Richey, Fl, a sister Maria C Sanchez of Medellin, Colombia, aunt Estella Cardenas of Ocala, Fl and his father in-law John Toso and mother in-law Tami Toso of Green Valley, AZ., brothers-in-law Robert Toso (Kathy) and David Toso (Karyn); and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and many aunts and uncles.
No funeral is planned. His ashes will be scattered in the ocean he loved.
