It is with deep sorrow and broken hearts that we announce the passing of Kayla Marie Chloe Day. She passed at Advent Health Hospital, Zephyrhills, Florida, surrounded by her family on Thursday, September 30, 2021, at the young age of 34.
Kayla was born in Springfield, Illinois to Carl Buhl and Kasey Haller Buhl, July 15, 1987.
Surviving family to cherish her memory is Kayla’s daughter Harlow Evangeline Day, parents Jack and Kelley Day of Spring Hill, FL, Father Carl Buhl of Springfield, Ill. Siblings Graham (Christina) Newlon of Bradenton, Florida, Ryan (Gina) Newlon, of Centertown, Missouri, Travis (Clarissa) Day and Tyler Day of Foristell, Mo and sister, Heather (Zachary) Hamblen of Springfield, Ill., And Uncle Mike Haller of Waukesha, WI. She is survived by many cousins and nieces and nephews as well as Baby Alice who will be here at the end of the month. Kayla was preceded in death by her mother, Katherine (Kasey Haller) Buhl, grandmother Jan Planck Haller Lawrence, uncles Patrick Haller and Shane Haller and aunt Penny Day. Her fiancée Edwin Torres, one week previous.
Kayla fully embraced motherhood, sharing her passion for life with her daughter, Harlow Evangeline. Kayla’s motherly commitment was intense, with unwavering determination to nurture her child to be confident, humble, responsible, and to have concern and compassion for others with high morals. She had met the love of her life, Edwin Torres and was making a lovely family home in the house they had just built 6 months ago. Edwin and Kayla contracted Covid 19 and could not survive.
Kayla will be remembered for her warm heart, inner strength, loving embrace and sense of humor. She was a blast. She loved her daughter, Harlow Evangeline with her whole heart. She was her mother, Kelley Day’s best friend.
Goodbyes are only for those who love with their eyes. Because for those who love with their heart and soul there is no such thing as separation. The Lord will bless us with a reunion; Date to be determined.
A shared celebration of life will be held in Kayla and Edwin’s honor in Spring Hill, Florida, TBD. Kayla will be laid to rest in Washington, Illinois at Glendale Cemetery, with her mother and her grandmother, in the Spring
