First and foremost, I want to extend my condolences to her immediate family-especially her children- Scott, Tom, Ted, Cortney & Jeff! Your Mom was like a 2nd mom to me and a friend too! To her best friend Pat, so so sorry for YOU loss of Margie! To all her grandchildren- and great grandchildren I KNOW how much NANA LOVED YOU ALL! She always spoke so highly each one of YOU – she would keep me up to date over the years what each one was doing/accomplishing etc. She was a one a kind NANA!! When first went to FL to meet up with Jeff-Nana was the ONE who brought to meet EVERYONE before Jeff! Looking back it brings a huge smile knowing she wanted to share her love of all of you with me too! She was so ACTIVE until that terrible evening she had her stroke-and I don’t want to dwell on that negative-for she is now no longer suffering! Because we had to witness it at our home-and the subsequent first days after- Haylie was with her that day- and her reason was cause she was NANA -she wanted to DO EVERYTHING -including that ICE BUCKET CHALLENGE to help others and have fun too! That is the thing about Margie nothing would stop her-she was a beautiful soul and a go-getter! That fateful day-changed her life-and so many of our–YOURS! But her HEART never stopped LOVING! that is what we must remember-she LOVED us ALL! To Cortney-you are the best daughter knowing she needed someone and you were there! I am sorry for your loss of you Mom-your best friend! Having one daughter myself it truly is a special bond- Debbie and Paige know that too! I wanted to tell Mark and Susan that I’m sorry for your loss too- so many memories you all have! To all who knew and loved Margie (Nana) my deepest condolences! To Liz- I am so sorry for your loss too!! I say to my “extended” family- as we say goodbye today- and when the grief comes around again- know this- Nana is there with you and hears you! I know she is because I feel her presence at times too! Lastly, my last video chat with Margie was that I told her I started taking an EKG course at the New Bedford Voc Tech for 10 weeks- yet I didn’t realize the thought of what I was going to getting into at that moment-proud share that I finally was doing something to change MY LIFE for Haylie for lil Jeffrey! Then after we hung up- it hit me- that I was going to be doing a job that involved the heart and circulatory system– and that right there made realize- THIS is for NANA–in her HONOR (as a stroke WARRIOR I do this!!) Margie thank you for all the times you were there when I needed to talk and when you and Roger would take Haylie to do fun things=she never has forgotten ANY of it!! I know you I wasn’t always the BEST MOM- but I know you knew that I love Haylie and Jeffrey and you forgave me.) Thank you for the gift of YOU in MY LIFE!! I treasure the memories! Even though I don’t really drink alcohol anymore, I will always remember “wanna another white zin” Remember when we got into the wrong backseat of that car?? The man driving thought we were two nuts! Those are the memories that I treasure- you were so full of life and so funny! I will miss being a phone call away!! PHONE CALL TO HEAVEN-my own Mom would say whenever I found a dime (the old payphones took dimes for the kids who probably dont’ know that- lol) Well, I will think of you too now when I see a random dime on the floor and think “Nana just called, to say: I LOVE YOU!! I love you too! Margie was the best person one could know if you ever needed someone to listen, make you laugh, or just a hug or a kiss! Jeff I am so sorry for the loss of your Mom- I know how much you cared and loved her until the very end! The kids know too!! My heart aches for you too! It’s no “goodbye” it’s “goodbye FOR NOW!!” LOVE to you all!
