Marie Margaret Ross
September 7, 1948 - January 1, 2024

It’s with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Marie Margaret Ross on January 1, 2024 in Dickson, TN.  She was the daughter of Albert and June Martin, born on September 7, 1948 in Manchester, NH. She was one of 12 children.

Marie is survived by her son, Hal Drake: daughter-in-law, Kristin Olsen; daughter, Kim Taubinger; step-daughter, Brandi Ross; grandchildren, Jacob 30, Madison 19, Benjamin 18, Liliana 16, Travis 15, and Luna 7; sisters, Dianne Moran, Cindy Cummings, and Valerie Dunbar; brothers, Robert Martin, David Martin, Jody Martin, and many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by her parents, her husband, John Ross; brothers, Wayne Martin, Clyde Martin, Carl Fogg, Joseph Martin, and Albert Martin.

Marie grew up in Maine and eventually moved to Las Vegas to escape the cold Maine winters. She then moved to Florida with her husband John and settled down in Hudson FL, where she would spend the remainder of her life. She chased her dream and eventually opened up her own bar called the 50’s Pub on Rt 52 in Hudson FL. She met and became friends with so many people in the community.

Marie loved to knit, play bingo, go to casinos, and go to the Moose Lodge or The Eagles to meet up with lots of her friends. She was also a great karaoke singer, her #1 song to sing was Pontoon by Little Big Town, and the song Funny Face . She loved family gatherings and cookouts. She loved to eat, and would always make a huge plate of food, she would eat more than a grown man, but she would continue to keep her skinny figure. Lobsters were her absolute favorite, and of course lobster rolls made with the left-overs.

She will be forever missed by friends and family. Her contagious laugh and smile will never be forgotten.

Her celebration of life will be held this summer in Windham, Maine.
