Mary Alyce Hudson
June 16, 1944 - November 20, 2022

Mary Alyce Hudson, 78 of Angels Senior Living at North Tampa passed away on November 20, 2022 at AdvantHealth Tampa Hospital, after a short battle with Covid 19. Mary Alyce was born on June 16, 1944 to Frank A. Hudson and Alice Patricia Hudson. She was predeceased by her loving husband George Hendricks, her parents, and her older brother Francis “Buddy” Hudson. She  is survived by her older sister Alicia Hudson Reynolds, her godsons (nephew’s), Charles “Chuck” B. Reynolds Jr. and Edward Hudson, along with numerous relatives from the Hudson, Reynolds, and Harkins clan whom she loved very much, and finally her close friends at Angels Senior Living, where she lived the past 7 years.

While growing up in Inwood NY, Mary Alyce graduated with honors from Academy of Sacred Heart of Mary High School and then attended Hunter College in Manhattan, NY. In the late 1970’s, Mary Alyce joined Eastern Airlines as an executive Travel Agent, and maintained being a committed long term employee for almost 40 years, as they became Continental Airlines, and ultimately United Airlines, before retiring just a few years ago.

Mary Alyce started her airline travel agent career in NJ, before relocating full time to Tampa, FL in the late 80’s. She loved the beach, ocean, music by George Benson, and traveling to Europe, the Caribbean, and anywhere abroad, to educate herself on all that this world has to offer. She often flew her mother and her mom’s friends with her, so they too could enjoy the travel life and experiences she loved so much. Mary Alyce was very knowledgeable about the world around us, but also enjoyed cooking, fine dining, playing card games, scrabble, chess, checkers, reading and any other fun entertainment that made her use her mind. She was always about fun, laughter and a good time. Mary Alyce was very unique in her personality, as she could be a loving chop buster, but deep down had a very loving and caring soul, especially for her immediate family members and true friends. Another incredible trait she had was that in good times or in bad, in person or on the phone, Mary Alyce would always end her closing remarks with “I love you”.

Mary Alyce loved the Christmas season, so we are asking for all to keep your loved ones close and please perform an additional act of kindness this holiday season in her honor. Mary Alyce wished to be cremated and laid to rest in Tampa Bay, FL where some family members will be having a celebration of life ceremony for her in the first quarter of 2023.

    Aunt Mary Alice,
You were one of a kind. A unique and happy soul that would command the rooms attention, without even asking for it. I thoroughly enjoyed all of our long phone calls over the more recent years and even more so when we got together in person for family reunion parties in years past. No one could make us laugh as much quite like you could and those are moments I’ll hang on to in remembrance of you. Thank you for being a wonderful Great Aunt to me, AMA. We’ll all miss you, undoubtedly. With All My Love, RIP. – Chad
