Neal Patrick McKinney of Zephyrhills, Florida, formerly of DeWitt and Kalkaska, Michigan, passed away at the age of 78 on May 11, 2021. Neal was born on February 15, 1943 in Detroit, Michigan to Robert D. McKinney and Gail (Beuschlein) McKinney. He attended South Lake High School in St. Clair Shores, Michigan. Neal served in the United States Marine Corps and was thankful for the support he received from the Veterans Association. Neal worked as an Operations Executive in Production, Materials, and Logistics management for Dana Corporation Atlas Drop Forge, Lindell Forge, and retired from Lake City Drop Forge. Neal is survived by his wife of 35 years, Barbara (Martinac) McKinney, daughter Kimberly (Joel) Smith of Laingsburg, Michigan, son Robert (Diane) McKinney of St. Johns, Michigan; his grandchildren Carlie Smith (John Richards), Jessica (Mitchell) Curry, Samuel and Allison McKinney; siblings Gayle (Andy) Percy of Arizona and Jamail McKinney of Oregon. Neal was preceded in death by his parents. A skilled outdoorsman, Neal enjoyed hunting, fishing, and in his earlier years, riding motorcycles and snowmobiles. He enjoyed a variety of sports and especially loved playing golf. Neal was a high energy, outgoing, life of the party man with an unbridled can-do spirit, who spent his time around family and friends enjoying life to the fullest. Interment with military honors will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
