Rev. Dr. Keith Wesley Drury
July 28, 1945 - April 7, 2024

Rev. Dr. Keith Wesley Drury of Brooksville, FL passed from this life to the next leg of the through-hike on April 7, 2024 at the age of 78. He was a devoted husband, proud father, and faithful friend. Drury was an ordained minister for 52 years, serving in various denominational official capacities for The Wesleyan Church for a quarter century until 1996. He then served for decades as Associate Professor of Practical Ministry both at Indiana Wesleyan University and at Wesley Seminary, the latter of which he was instrumental in launching. He retired as Professor Emeritus in 2012. Drury loved to get people thinking, and was the author of more than a dozen published books and countless columns, articles, and curricula, but is perhaps most often remembered for the timeless book Holiness for Ordinary People. He was known as a teacher, speaker, leader, advisor, author, futurist, mentor, encourager, and provocateur. Yet Drury preferred to just be called “Coach” by his thousands of students.

Drury is survived by Sharon, his wife of 56 years, and his sons and daughters-in-law, David and Kathy, John and Amanda, as well as six grandchildren: Maxim, Karina, Lauren, Sam, Clara, and Paul.

Memorial services are planned at Brooksville Wesleyan Church, Brooksville, FL at 1:00pm on 4/24/2024 and at College Wesleyan Church, Marion, IN at 1:00pm on 4/29/2024.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to Wesley Seminary for a scholarship in Keith’s name.
Give at seminary.indwes.edu/donate with “Keith Drury Memorial” in the “Additional Information” line.
