Rita Emberson, 76 of Wesley Chapel, passed away on Friday, November 11, 2022. She was born in Ohio and moved to Florida from Louisville in 1976. Rita was an exceptional lady which was reflected in her career as a Registered Nurse specializing in wound care. Rita had a huge heart and donated to many animal help organizations and took in many strays. She was independent and loved nature, gardening and her Catholic faith. She was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church where she belonged to many groups and organizations; Rita was strong, compassionate, and philanthropic. Her love and caring knew no bounds.

Ms. Rita is survived by her loving son, Michael Morris and his partner, Lisa Wilson; 1 granddaughter, Malaya; her cousins, Glenn (Donna) Renninger, Rhonda Renninger, Don Rooks and Laura Rooks and their families. Also surviving are many friends, colleagues, and church friends too numerous to mention.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 17 from 5-7 pm at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church 2348 Collier Parkway Land O’Lakes, Florida 34639. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Friday, November 18, 2022 at 1 o’clock pm at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in her memory to Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church or any animal rescue group…she would love that.

The family has entrusted care and services to Coastal Cremations and Funeral Care-Zephyrhills.

My sweet, kind, intelligent friend Rita was an exceptional woman. With enthusiasm she loves, present tense, our Lord and His Church. Rita was an encouraging soul. Really, it’s difficult to find enough wonderful descriptive words for her. I love her and will miss Rita until we meet again. May God bless all family and friends who recognized her goodness.

I will miss Rita, blessed that she is one of my dearest friends and coworker for 25 years. She was as brilliant as she was kind. At work she would never slow down, her patients adored her as she had a heart of gold for everyone and her passion for animals. I will miss our breakfast outings and great conversation. Your are finally home with the Lord. Rest easy my friend.
Michael, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Rita was one of the kindest people. We will always remember how sweet she was every time we saw her. Going to her house and seeing how she lovingly cared for her own mother. How she took in every cat that needed a home and gave them the best home they could have hoped for. She was always so thoughtful sending pictures and cards to let us know she was thinking of us.

As our next-door neighbor and dear friend, she will be sorely missed. She selfishly helped our father with his healthcare needs at her own insistence and for that, we couldn’t be more grateful. We pray for comfort for her family in this great time of need.

Rita was such a beautiful soul. She was so friendly, encouraging, kind and hardworking. She was so welcoming to me when I started working with her. I was always so happy to see her and her patients loved her. God bless.

It would be hard to find a better friend than Rita. I was very blessed to have her as my friend since our junior high school days in Sarasota. Miss our wonderful phone chats but know she is now an angel at peace forever. Sending sympathy and prayers to her family and many friends.

Rita, dear friend since Sarasota school days, I think of you so often. You generously & thoughtfully welcomed us back to FL from the north after many years. Wish we could now help with your beloved kitties. Condolences to Michael & Malaya, and family. Love you.
