Robert J. Aceto
August 12, 1930 - March 1, 2024

Robert J. Aceto, beloved husband, devoted father, and cherished patriarch, peacefully passed away on March 1, 2024, in Zephyrhills, FL, at the age of 93.

Robert, “Bob” to family and friends, graced this world on August 12, 1930, in Racine, Wisconsin. Bob proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force after World War II, stationed in Europe during the reconstruction, before making his home in Tampa in 1959.

Bob’s devotion to family was the cornerstone of his life. His heart overflowed with love for his wife Geri, his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His infectious and unique sense of humor, quick wit, and disarming smile created an atmosphere of joy and belonging wherever he went. To know him was to be embraced by his kindness and to share in his laughter. 

Bob loved music, and the timeless voices of Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, and Louis Prima will always remind his loved ones of him. He embodied the essence of family values and fairness, and set the standard for what it meant to be a “family business.” As the proud owner of A1 Bargain Furniture in Tampa, he nurtured a legacy of hard work and generosity, extending his hand to family and community alike.

Bob is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Geri, his son Robert Jr. “BJ”and wife Arlene, daughters Connie Bast, Andre Fernandez, Suzie Cruz, Tina Lauteria and husband Patrick, and Michele Gay, along with 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Serafino and Sophie Hoffman Aceto, as well as three brothers and four sisters.

The legacy of Robert J. Aceto is one of love, hard work, and unwavering devotion to family and friends. His generous spirit, huge heart, and quick wit will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Bob’s life was a testament to the power of love, laughter, and genuine human connection, and his absence leaves a void that can never be filled.

There will be a celebration of Life for Robert, Sunday, April 14th from 2:00 to 6:00 pm at the Woodmont Clubhouse, 415 Woodmont  Ave. Temple Terrace, FL 33617
