Rodney “Rod” Novenske
July 3, 1938 - March 7, 2023

Rodney A. Novenske, 84 a winter resident of Zephyrhills from St. Ignace, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 in Zephyrhills. He was born in Brevort Township in Michigan and was employed by the State of Michigan as a Corrections Officer. Rod was an extremely patriotic and honorably discharged US Marine and was Lutheran in his faith. He enjoyed many different activities including hunting, fishing, shooting pool, playing numerous instruments, playing baseball (which he was excellent), and was an avid Detroit Tigers fan. Rod belonged to AmVets, Elks Club, the American Legion, the Moose Club and the Jaycees in Michigan.

He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. Rod is survived by his loving wife of over 50 years Linda; sons, Brien Novenske and Ronn Farr; daughters, Nicole, Noelle and Jennifer Novenske as well as his precious grandchildren, Briana, Cooper, Mackenzie and Wynn. Also surviving is his loving cat, Lou.

He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Jean, sisters Yvonne and Fayda, and grandson, Basil.

Rodney’s services will be held in Michigan at a later date.

    Rod was a great person and definitely be missed but never forgotten! My son’s and I loved hearing the wonderful stories of fishing and hunting . Hug’s, Thoughts and prayers for your family.

    My deepest condolences to Jen, Linda, and the entire family. Although we only met once I feel as I’ve known him for a long time from the stories from Jen. You are all in my prayers during this difficult time, I hope your memories bring you some comfort.
