Walter M. Porter, Jr., 80 of Clermont, Florida went home to be with the Lord and join his loving wife, Judith Porter on December 31, 2018. He was born in Washington, D.C. and raised in Quitman, Georgia. He joined the Navy at the age of 17. He was proud of his service to our country. However, he was most proud of his family. He is survived by his children Sherri Bouton (Phil) of Havasu, AZ, Staci Dillon (Ez) of Youngsville, OH, Shaynon Coppenbarger (Nick) of Phoenix, AZ, R.K. Attaway (Tracy) of Clermont, FL and Shelli Porter-Sauban (Bob) of New Port Richey, FL. He is also survived by his grandchildren Aimee, Jimmy, Bobby, Megan, Katie, C.J., Becki, Mandi, Bobby, Austin and Chase and 14 great grandchildren and siblings Jeanine Warren, Bill Porter, Steve Porter (Renee), David Porter, Joe Porter (Kim) and Becki Moon. He loved and was loved by his family, neighbors and friends who were his extended family. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Family Christian Center, 2500 Hwy. 27, Clermont, FL at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made to the U.S Department of Veterans Affairs James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital – Tampa, Florida.
