Sikes, Wayne E., 74. passed away on August 17, 2021 in Tampa, Florida. Wayne was a generous husband, father, and uncle as well as a loyal “best” friend to many. His absolute favorite title was that of “Papa”. He retired from the food brokerage business to tell long winded funny tales of his travels and live a life giving back to his family and church. A man so deeply woven with his Christian faith that he spoke of his personal relationship with God until his passing. He is survived by his loving wife Rachel. Daughters Teresa Frauenfelder and Jay; Kristie Sikes and Felix Pina; Grand Children Amy Creighton and Bill, Corey Frauenfelder and Katie, Brooke Frauenfelder, Eli Pina, Gabriel Sikes-Pina; Great Grandchildren Lillian and Kyla Creighton, Emerson Frauenfelder; Surviving Siblings Irma Peavey & Betty McAuley; as well as countless loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas C. and Leona (Johns) Sikes, brothers Hugh Grady Sikes and Curtis Sikes, sister Vera Castello.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, September 2nd, 2021. Visitation at 1:00 PM with a service at 2:00 PM at West Broad Street Baptist Church, 3809 W. Broad St., Tampa, Florida 33614
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association in honor of the deceased. Coastal Cremations was entrusted with Mr. Sikes arrangements.
